After the official acquisition of Xamarin by Microsoft, Microsoft started to take the first steps. Xamarin is now a FREE Part of Visual Studio Community and we can assume that the product will be offered to the developers for free.
Such move of Microsoft would be logical, as there is competition on the market for mobile applications offering free use of their development environment (Apple XCode Swift and Google with Android Studio).
For the companies, this move can mean significant cost savings for mobile application development. Companies will be able to deliver mobile solutions to the market cheaper and more quickly respond to customer needs - as we know that anything mobile is `in`. They will also be able to focus on less lucrative and experimental projects, price of which will be reduced to the price of development.
Let’s wait to find out whether Microsoft follows their open company philosophy even in case of Xamarin!
